Celebrating 70 Years: Reinvigorating a Brand

The Challenge

Established in 1944 by Abram Albert DeFehr, Palliser Furniture is a family-owned home furnishings manufacturer based in Winnipeg. They have six factories in North America and manufacture all types of upholstery, stationary, motion, recliners, home theatre, and chairs in leather/vinyl and exclusive fabrics.

With their 70th anniversary approaching, Palliser was planning an event to celebrate and to show appreciation for their employees. This celebration also acted as a Chamber networking event and a chance to showcase their new furniture line, Pinnacle. Palliser approached Metric to create an event booklet telling a brand story throughout the history of Palliser as a company.

The Approach

This brand event project was the first of its kind for Metric. In collaboration with Palliser, we created a 12 page book to be mailed out to customers and employees before their anniversary event. The book showcased the rise and growth of Palliser Furniture over the past 70 years, and can also serve as marketing collateral for years to come.

Creating a Theme

The event book focuses on the impact of the DeFehr family and also integrates the development of family life and how Palliser has evolved with the family over the years.

The Results

The event was ultimately a reinvigoration of the Palliser brand. A factory tour for the new Pinnacle collection as well as the roll out of the Pinnacle website launched their new product line in an impactful way. Along with the event booklet, an email campaign and press release ensured that the word was out and the event went off without a hitch.
