You were born to multi-task and interact with people. You’re familiar with a wide range of HR tasks and love to organize training, administer payroll and benefits, craft HR guidelines and be the point person for all things HR and administration. Your boundless energy means you like wearing different hats—office manager, HR and executive support. You’re productive, independent and super organized yet flexible, and you enjoy the challenges of supporting a company of diverse, goal-oriented people who work at the office or from home. You admire and support a strong office culture where everyone is friendly, respectful and productive.


This is a 12-18 month term position, where you’ll be Metric’s point person for managing our office and human resources. This is a multi-dimensional position in which you will have a high regard for privacy and confidentiality, as you make sure our HR and office run smoothly and efficiently while supporting an upbeat, industrious and international office culture. You have a good working knowledge of employment and labour laws, excellent people & communication skills, and the ability to solve problems on the fly. You know how to run and maintain an office (mail, supplies, equipment, bills, errands) and manage relationships with vendors and service providers, and you understand the importance of a consistent brand and culture experience for clients and employees. This is a temporary mat-leave position that has the possibility of developing into full-time permanent employment.

Main Roles

  • Administer payroll and compensation and benefit plans

  • Maintain scrupulous privacy and confidentiality

  • Plan, implement and evaluate internal guidelines, programs & practices

  • Manage the talent acquisition process (recruiting, interviewing, hiring)

  • Employee onboarding, training and development

  • Provide HR support to employees (leave, compensation, benefits, etc.)

  • Maintain employee records (paper & electronic)

  • Organize team-building activities and manage monthly employee lunches

  • Build and maintain relationship with vendors, suppliers and service providers

  • Manage contracts and negotiate prices with office vendors and service providers

  • Maintain an office culture of efficiency and friendliness

  • Prepare operational reports 

  • Monitor/maintain office supplies

  • Manage CEO’s schedule, calendar and appointments as needed
