About the Role
As a Technical Strategist at Metric Marketing, you’ll lead the strategic planning and structure of website projects, ensuring every digital experience is built with purpose and precision. You’ll help shape UX direction, develop strategic artifacts, optimize performance, and ensure technical accuracy through QA. This is a facilitation-heavy role. You won’t be designing or coding, but you’ll be central to bringing together creative, dev, and strategy to ensure the right solution gets built the right way.
Core Duties
- Website Strategy: Develop and execute strategic web plans, including gathering specifications and producing deliverables like discovery summaries, stakeholder interviews, sitemaps, and strategy briefs to align internal teams and clients.
- UX Artifact Creation & Architecture Planning: Design and deliver UX artifacts such as annotated wireframes, user flows, and content frameworks to establish user-centered architecture and provide direction for creative and development teams.
- Website Optimization: Optimize websites for performance, SEO, and conversion through data analysis, UX improvements, and strategic recommendations.
- QA & Technical Accuracy: Oversee quality assurance for websites and technical deliverables, ensuring accurate implementation, functionality, and adherence to approved plans through usability checks, technical verifications, and post-launch audits.
- Project Facilitation & Communication: Foster collaboration across teams and with stakeholders by clearly communicating strategic intent, presenting deliverables, and minimizing obstacles throughout all project phases.
Experience
- Experience in planning and delivering websites or digital projects from start to finish.
- Comfort working with web structure, UX planning, QA, and data-informed improvements like SEO or Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).
- Familiarity with UX planning, website structure, QA, and using data to guide improvements.
- While agency experience is a plus, relevant experience in project management, design, development, or marketing strategy is welcome.
- A background in web, UX, communications, or digital marketing is helpful, but practical skills are key.
- Tech proficiency including Figma (or similar), Google Analytics, Tag Manager, basic SEO tools, and CMS familiarity (especially WordPress).
- The ability to assess web performance and QA websites.
- Strong communication skills are crucial for this client-facing role, requiring the ability to convey complex information clearly, attention to detail, and effective problem-solving.
